Interstitial Lung Disease Program – Our Team
Steven Nathan, MD, FCCP, is an internationally recognized expert in interstitial lung diseases with over 200 publications in the field and 20+ years of experience.
Christopher King, MD, FCCP, has numerous publications on interstitial lung disease and is active in the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. He has a particular interest in the critical care of advanced lung diseases.
A. Whitney Brown, MD, is a well-recognized thought leader in the treatment of interstitial lung disease and lung transplantation. Her research interests include interstitial lung disease, lung transplantation, and cystic fibrosis.
Oksana Shlobin, MD, has more than a decade of experience treating interstitial lung disease and numerous publications in the field. She has a particular interest in connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary hypertension.
Shambhu Aryal, MD, FCCP, joined our faculty in 2016. His research interests include sarcoidosis and lung transplantation. He started and leads our sarcoidosis clinic.
Kareem Ahmad, MD, joined our team after completing a year of additional training in advanced lung disease. He serves as the head of our alpha-1 antitrypsin program. He has broad research interests including interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension.
Osman Malik, MD, is an experienced clinician who works with both the Advanced Lung Disease Clinic and the Medical Critical Care Service at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
