Flu Vaccination Clinics

Stopping the flu starts with you! Inova offers numerous in-hospital and regional flu vaccination clinics for the convenience of you, your family and your workplace. Flu shots are provided September through December at our community clinics as well as in our hospitals.

Experience counts

Inova provides tens of thousands of flu shots to the DC metropolitan area every year. With more than 15 years experience in providing flu shot clinics to the community, we are proud to say many of our staff, clients and volunteers have been with us since the very beginning. We are familiar with the area and the needs of our different patrons.

Quality counts

Only nurses fully employed (not contracted) by Inova provide our flu shots. That means our nurses are highly qualified, selected, screened and trained. All immunization nurses, new and returning, attend a re-orientation and refresher course at the start of each flu season.

Service counts

From the moment you schedule a clinic or arrive at one, our staff and volunteers are ready to assist you every step of the way. We provide educational and promotional materials and schedule a tie to best suit your needs. We provide a copy of your consent form on the spot so that you have information to take home about potential side effects and a receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We value our extremely-satisfied clients, many of whom return year after year, and appreciate their compliments and gratitude.

Convenience counts

We offer clinic locations where you work or where you live. With over 1,000 Inova-sponsored clinics each year, we can meet your needs. Weekly clinics are offered at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Inova Alexandria Hospital, and Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. Clinics are also held at convenient community locations such as libraries, recreation centers and church halls.

Kids count

Inova's hospital-based clinics are an easy and convenient way for your children to receive an annual flu shot. Virginia Commonwealth law requires that a physician must be present in order to give vaccines to children under 18 years old. Unlike most commercial flu shot clinics, Inova's hospital clinics make it easy for your entire family to receive a flu shot (infants must be at least six months old to receive the vaccine).

Please note that children under the age of 4 years must receive their vaccine at a hospital. Adults and children age 4 and older may receive them at a hospital or at a clinic.
