Inova Loudoun Hospital was named a U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital for 2018-19. We are ranked among the top hospitals in the country for nursing excellence, emergency care services, and patient safety. Inova Loudoun Hospital is one of only 41 hospitals nationwide to earn “Straight A’s” in patient safety since the inception of the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade in 2012. Our hospital is also a Joint Commission Center of Excellence for Hip and Knee Replacement, Spinal Surgery, and Stroke Care. Both our adult and children’s emergency rooms are recipients of the prestigious Lantern Award.
Inova Loudoun Hospital is home to Loudoun County’s only designated trauma center, pediatric emergency room, NICU, and hospital-based natural birth center. Our two, additional 24/7 free-standing emergency rooms (ERs) located in Ashburn and Leesburg are Joint Commission Certified Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals (ASRH) and make it easy for Loudouners to receive high quality emergency care – when and where it's needed.

The future of Inova Loudoun Hospital
To meet the needs of our ever-growing community, we are expanding our facilities and services. Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Master Plan expansion project ensures that Loudouners will always have access to high-quality care, advanced technology, and state-of-the-art healthcare facilities – close to home.
As we enter the next phase of the Master Plan, highlights will include a new patient tower with all-private patient rooms; a new labor and delivery unit and NICU with enhanced neonatal capabilities; outpatient services; imaging; and more.

A higher level of emergency care
Inova Loudoun Hospital is Loudoun County’s only designated trauma center. This new designation ensures that you and your family will always receive the best, most cutting-edge emergency care – close to home. The Inova Virts Miller Family Emergency and Trauma Center is a full service emergency department for adults and is a Joint Commission certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
The Inova Children’s Emergency Room at Inova Loudoun Hospital is the county's only ER solely dedicated to caring for children, and the first sensory-friendly ER in the Washington, DC region. Exclusively serving patients from infancy to 21 years of age, this facility is also located on our Lansdowne campus, is open 24/7 and is staffed with board certified pediatric emergency physicians and nurses, Child Life Specialists, and a full-time facility dog to help ease anxiety.
Free-standing ERs
Inova Loudoun Hospital operates two additional 24/7 free-standing emergency rooms in Leesburg and Ashburn, making it easier for Loudouners to receive emergency care – when and where it's needed. Both facilities are Joint Commission Certified Acute Stroke Ready Hospitals (ASRH) – the second and third in the state of Virginia to achieve this designation.
