Inova Mount Vernon Hospital provides a wide range of services in the diagnosis and treatment of many cancers. The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer has accredited Inova Mount Vernon as a community hospital cancer program. Our nurses are certified to administer chemotherapy and provide other supportive care to people with cancer. We offer an updated infusion center that provides a comfortable atmosphere for both patients and their families.

Inova Breast Care Institute at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is dedicated to helping women and men maintain breast health. We offer screening mammograms, including the latest in digital mammography, and breast sonograms to detect early signs of disease. If you need a breast biopsy, we perform minimally invasive procedures such as stereotactic breast biopsy and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy. Both allow you to heal quickly and with less risk of scarring. Our cancer program is part of the American Cancer Society's facility information profile program (FIPS). FIPS is an Internet listing of the resources and services available at participating hospitals. It was developed in combination with the Commission on Cancer and American Cancer Society to promote community outreach and consumer-based education.
