The Inova Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Center offers acupuncture treatments to serve a variety of community needs. The clinic has developed a partnership with the Inova Life with Cancer program to offer group acupuncture services to Life with Cancer participants who are facing the challenges associated with cancer.
On-site acupuncture at the Life with Cancer center
The partnership provides on-site acupuncture services at the Inova Life with Cancer center in Fairfax at a reduced rate weekly. Each 30-minute session will include an initial consultation and acupuncture treatment.

How can I schedule an acupuncture treatment at the Life with Cancer center?
Patients need to call Life With Cancer (LWC) staff directly at 703-206-5433 to make or modify a Group Acupuncture appointment. We do not currently offer online booking for Life With Cancer group acupuncture appointments.

How can I cancel an appointment for acupuncture at the Life with Cancer center and is there a cancellation penalty?
Patients may cancel an appointment by calling Life With Cancer staff directly at 703-206-5433. Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance so that we may schedule someone else in your place.
How long is the visit and consultation?
Total visit time is 30 minutes. Session includes up to 10 minutes of brief consultation, followed by an acupuncture treatment.
Treatment Information
Are there any necessary documents that must be completed prior to receiving acupuncture treatment?
All patients must complete paperwork prior to appointment date/time. Forms will be emailed to you after you have scheduled your appointment.
When are the patient forms due to the Inova Traditional Chinese Medicine center?
To maximize treatment time, online patient forms must be completed 24 hours prior to your appointment.
How will I know how many acupuncture treatments are needed to alleviate my condition?
The acupuncturist will determine the number of recommended sessions for each patient based on the medical evaluation.
Will I experience relief immediately from my acupuncture treatment?
Some patients experience immediate relief. Other patients may need to experience 2 – 3 treatments before significant relief is experienced.
What should I wear for the acupuncture treatment at the Life with Cancer Center?
Because this is group acupuncture, you should dress in clothing that is loose, with free access from the elbows down and the knees down.
Will I need to bring anything to the Life with Cancer group acupuncture?
You may want to bring a blanket and small pillow for additional comfort.
Who may receive acupuncture treatment at the Life with Cancer Center?
TCM/LWC program is offered to patients, family members, caregivers, etc., but priority is given to patients.

How much is the group acupuncture session at the Life with Cancer center?
Please inquire with the Life with Cancer center for treatment pricing.
What forms of payment are acceptable for the group acupuncture?
TCM will invoice each patient by email once the appointment is confirmed. Patients are encouraged to pay online prior to treatment. Acceptable forms of payment are VISA, MC, AMEX, and check. We do not accept cash payment on site at the Life with Cancer center.
When is payment due for the acupuncture treatment?
TCM will invoice each patient by email once the appointment is confirmed. Patients are encouraged to pay online prior to treatment, however payment is due in full at the time of service.
Can I submit my receipt to my insurance company for reimbursement?
TCM will provide a Superbill to patients for insurance reimbursement by email within 48 hours of your visit. TCM does not accept any insurance currently.
