Each year, Inova Women’s Hospital welcomes more than 10,000 new lives into the world. As the region’s referral center for high-risk maternal care, Inova Women’s Hospital provides a comfortable and safe birthing environment from the simplest delivery to the most complex.

The hospital includes 22 labor, delivery and recovery suites, a 38-bed high-risk perinatal inpatient unit, and 89 postpartum, family-centered care beds. There are three well-baby nurseries in addition to Inova Children’s Hospital’s 75-bed level IV NICU.

The Inova Obstetrics Collaborative Group has several areas of focus, including the reduction the primary c-section rate. From 2010 to 2011, the primary c-section rate was reduced from 27.2 percent to 24.5 percent. In 2012 the rate dropped to 16.4 percent.
