The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Inova Women’s Hospital at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is a national leader in the field.
Led by George "Larry" Maxwell, MD (Retired USA Col), the department is home to one of our nation’s busiest obstetrical programs. Birthing more than 10,000 babies each year, the program is a national leader in the care of high-risk pregnancies. Nationally recognized for gynecologic care, the Department’s programs include the mid-Atlantic’s most comprehensive Gynecologic Oncology program, a multi-disciplinary pelvic floor center, and Reproductive, Endocrinology and Infertility.

Nationally recognized
In recognition of the department’s expertise, U.S. News & World Report ranked Inova Women’s Hospitals 23rd in the nation in Gynecology, 2012-2013.
Expanding for the future
Inova Women's Hospital and Inova Children's Hospital opened a new 12-story tower to allow us to provide the latest in technology and a new level of patient comfort and privacy. The project was just one part of an $850 million expansion of Inova Fairfax Medical Campus that began in 2010.
