Inova Mount Vernon Hospital has a dedicated Breast Health Center that serves as a model throughout Inova Health System. Dedicated to helping women and men maintain breast health, we offer screening mammograms, comprehensive mammograms and breast sonograms to detect early signs of disease.
We have digital mammography
At the Breast Health Center, your health means everything to us. That is why we invested in digital mammography – to make sure our patients have the most advanced technologies and treatments to fight cancer. A recent landmark study has proven digital mammography especially effective for:

- Women who are pre-menopausal or in its beginning stages

Mammopad for your comfort
We make an extra effort to help ensure your comfort during a mammogram by offering the soft assistance of Mammopad. This foam-like breast pillow reduces the discomfort of compression during a mammogram while still providing high-quality X-rays.

When it is necessary to examine breast tissue microscopically, we can perform minimally invasive procedures, which heal quicker with less scarring:
- Stereotactic breast biopsy
