Family Medicine Residency Program

VCU-Fairfax Family Practice launched its residency program in 1972, becoming one of the premier family medicine residency programs using a longitudinal curriculum. VCU-Fairfax Family Medicine is the result of collaboration between the Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Family Medicine, Inova, and Fairfax Family Practice, a privately owned group practice.

With emphasis on adult learning and a tradition of innovation and caring for the community, our physicians have incorporated the use of a comprehensive electronic medical records system (EMR). This addition allows our residents to stay at the forefront of medical technology in our clinical practice.
