Operating Room Nurse Orientation
The Operating Room Nurse Orientation program provides a learning environment for the registered nurse to apply fundamental skills and knowledge of operating room nursing. This six-month program includes didactic learning, mock practice sessions and a clinical preceptorship in operating room nursing. Student responsibilities include reading assignments, quizzes, tests, successful return demonstrations, maintenance of a learning journal, successful performance in the clinical area and attendance at all classes. This program is a three-credit course offered in conjunction with George Mason University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences in their undergraduate program. Inova nurses are responsible for paying George Mason University (GMU) tuition at the standard GMU rate for contract courses.
