Biography

Dr. Samrawit "Sam" Berhanu is a board certified OBGYN who moved to the Northern Virginia area in 2014 to be close to family. She joined Inova Medical Group with more than seven years of clinical experience. She enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecologic care, and has special interests in high-risk obstetrics, abnormal uterine bleeding, contraception care and management of abnormal pap smears.

Her goal is to provide compassionate care for all women through all phases of their life.

A native of Ethiopia, she currently lives in Alexandria, VA, with her husband and their daughter, whom she adores. In her free time, Dr. Berhanu loves to eat out, travel, and has a passion for global women’s health.
