Biography
Dr. MacArthur is a primary care physician board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He has a special interest in the prevention and management of all musculoskeletal and athletic injuries, as well as the use of diagnostic ultrasound, therapeutic platelet-rich plasma, prolotherapy, regenerative stem cell injections and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Dr. MacArthur currently serves as a team physician for the Washington Redskins (NFL Football) and a consultant physician for the Washington Nationals (Major League Baseball). Before he joined Inova, Dr. MacArthur also served as a fellow team physician for DC United (Major League Soccer) and the Potomac Nationals (Minor League Baseball).
Dr. MacArthur became interested in Sports Medicine because of his own interest in sports and active living. His goal is to help his patients of all ages return to their desired activity level as quickly and safely as possible.
A native of the DC metropolitan area, Dr. MacArthur currently resides in Capitol Hill. In his spare time he enjoys running, biking, participating in recreational sports and spending time with his family.
He has completed the Baltimore Marathon and numerous other races.
