Specialized programs include lymphedema management, wound healing services, concussion management and feeding/swallowing services.

Physical therapy (PT) services
Inova Loudoun Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center offers physical therapy services for patients of all ages – from infancy to adult.
For adults, we offer the full array of standard physical therapy services as well as specialized care in the areas of oncology, pelvic floor disorders, aquatic therapy, lymphedema, concussion, balance and vestibular therapy.
For the pediatric population (ages 0 – 18), our physical therapists are skilled in providing intervention for:
- Gross motor developmental delays
- Strength
- Coordination
- Neuro re-education
- Facilitation of age appropriate milestones

Occupational therapy (OT) services
Inova Loudoun Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center offers occupational therapy services for patients of all ages – from infancy to adult.
For the pediatric population (ages 0 – 18), our occupational therapists are skilled in therapeutic strategies for:
- Sensory integration dysfunction
- Fine motor skills
- Visual motor skills

- Independence through adaptive equipment or compensatory strategies

Speech therapy services
Inova Loudoun Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation Center offers speech-language pathologists to improve functional communication skills.
For the pediatric population (ages 0 – 18), our speech therapists are trained to provide treatment for:
- Auditory processing
- Articulation/phonology
- Dysphagia
- Cleft palate and resonance disorders
- Expressive/receptive language
- Voice disorders (i.e. paralysis, nodules, weakness)
- Oral-motor function
- Feeding difficulties
- Apraxia of speech

- Vocal cord dysfunction
Lymphedema management services
Our experienced and specially trained team of Board Certified Lymphedema Therapists (LANA – occupational and physical therapists) can accurately assess and provide clinical management of edematous conditions to correct and avoid irreversible and progressive damage. Lymphedema services include:
- Manual lymphatic drainage
- Compression therapy/garment fitting
- Therapeutic exercise
- Self-care, hygiene and skin care
- Scar management
- Patient/Family education

The Wound Healing Center at Inova Loudoun Hospital is a specialized resource for treatment of complex sores and wounds that will not heal. These wounds can include foot ulcers associated with diabetes, non-healing surgical wounds, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers and wounds related to metabolic diseases such as pyoderma gangrenosum. Concussion management
Inova Concussion Program uses a personalized, multi-disciplinary, team approach and advanced technology to assist individuals recover from mild traumatic brain injury, commonly referred to as a concussion. As the area’s experts, we are a trusted resource for:
- Baseline testing
- Early identification through community education
- Treatment/rehabilitation
- Monitoring stages for medical clearance for return to school, athletics and other activities

Feeding and swallowing services
We evaluate and treat kids and adults who have feeding and swallowing problems. We provide evaluation, treatment and video swallow studies.
Our Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Center provides outpatient evaluation and treatment for a wide spectrum of feeding disorders, food aversions and swallowing problems experienced by premature infants, neonates, and children through adolescence.
