Why should you try pregnancy massage?

Ken Brown, LMT is a Nationally Licensed Massage Therapist and level 3 Reiki Master.  He is well versed in a wide range of bodywork and energy balancing techniques including sports massage, pregnancy massage, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and oncology massage. Pregnancy is a time of change and stress. Between the growing to-do list of preparations and new aches and pains that arise – trying to keep everything and everyone organized can be a bit overwhelming.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is wonderful for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress, encourage relaxation, and promote overall wellness. Often, it helps to reduce or relieve many of the normal pregnancy discomforts including backaches, leg cramps, headaches, and edema (swelling). It can also help to increase circulation and promote better sleep habits.

Pregnancy massage is recommended during the second and third trimesters. Your massage therapist will use medium to light pressure while you’re positioned in a safe, comfortable side lying position. This supported posture allows the therapist to work your entire body without putting any undue stresses on you. If your shoulders need more work, or you would like the session to focus on your back or feet – we can do that too.

It’s the perfect time for you to put your growing to-do lists and the rest of the world aside for a bit and just focus on you!
