Orthopedic Trauma, Fractures and Complex Surgery
Inova Medical Group's Orthopedic Trauma Service provides expert care for patients of all ages with severe musculoskeletal injuries resulting from motor vehicle collisions, work-related accidents and other critical or traumatic conditions. With fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons, the Inova Medical Group team provides all of the adult orthopedic emergency room coverage at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The hospital offers the only Level 1 trauma center in Northern Virginia.
Beginning with the initial encounter in the emergency department, the Orthopedic Trauma Service employs an integrated and multi-disciplinary team approach to ensure an optimal result in patient treatment, recovery and rehabilitation.
The orthopedic trauma team specializes in the care of the most complex fractures and fracture-related problems, such as nonunions, malunions, post-traumatic arthritis, deformity correction, infections, pelvis/hip reconstruction and foot/ankle reconstruction. Our ultimate goal is to help patients recover from their injuries and return to their everyday activities.
Aside from our clinical pursuits, the orthopedic trauma team is engaged in academics including education of orthopedic surgeons. The group is actively involved in research, including studies looking to improve bone healing as well as clinical trials – all in an effort to advance orthopedic care.
We accept transfers of all patients who are in need of emergent and non-emergent complex orthopedic care. Learn more
