About our imaging services

CT (computed tomography or "CAT scan")
Low Dose technology has reduced radiation by 10-30 percent while maintaining high quality images.

Mammography
Our mammography program is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). We offer 3D mammography at multiple locations, the latest technology in breast cancer screening and detection. It allows the Radiologist to examine breast tissue one layer at a time, improving the ability to detect abnormalities while reducing false alarms due to overlapping tissue.
Additionally, the Schar Cancer Institute – Peterson Family Breast Center now offers the Hologic SmartCurve™ System, allowing for a more comfortable mammogram without increased radiation. The curved compression surface mirrors the shape of a woman's breast and curvature at the chest wall, which reduces "pinching." Ninety five percent of women surveyed said that they would recommend a facility that uses the Hologic SmartCurve System.

Tomosynthesis (3D Breast Imaging)
Uses high-powered computing to convert digital breast images into a stack of very thin layers or “slices”, capturing more images. Prescription is required.

Our 3 Tesla MR helps physicians make a confident diagnosis and treat broad categories of diseases including stroke, brain tumors, epilepsy, musculoskeletal and heart disease.
