Heartburn Treatment Center at Inova Alexandria Hospital
Our heartburn treatment service is dedicated to evaluating, educating and treating patients with illnesses related to gastroesophageal reflux or esophageal motility disorders. Our comprehensive, streamlined approach capitalizes on the expertise of gastroenterology, surgery, pulmonary medicine and ENT physicians who are dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients and reducing the risk of long-term complications caused by these disorders and by prolonged use of medications.
We offer state-of-the-art diagnostic studies for patients, including 24-hour outpatient pH studies and esophageal motility evaluations. We also offer esophageal impedance testing, which improves accurate diagnosis of reflux disease and provides a more accurate diagnosis of esophageal motility disorders.
We offer both conservative and surgical treatment options. Our streamlined approach capitalizes on the expertise of gastroenterology, surgery, pulmonary medicine and ENT physicians who aim to improve patients’ quality of life and reduce their risk of long-term complications caused by GER and related disorders and by prolonged use of medications.
