Support Group

We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to join a free support group, which will provide the important support and motivation you deserve after your weight loss surgery.

Note: Inova bariatric support groups do not replace individual consultation with your physician. We encourage you to consult your doctor about information learned from our support groups as he/she has a more comprehensive understanding of your health. Inova Fair Oaks Hospital staff help guide discussions and provide general information about bariatric surgery, but they cannot be responsible for information shared by other patients. Our goal is to share information based on professional literature, current practice and their personal experience.

All support groups follow the Fairfax County School decisions to cancel evening activities based on weather.

Journey Together

Journey Together support group meets the third Monday of the month. Our experts give a presentation on a specific topic each month, followed by general discussion if time allows. Occasional guest speakers address special areas of interest such as plastic surgery.

We intend these support group meetings to be both informative and fun. Bring your outgrown clothes for our clothing exchange. Plan to socialize with new friends after the meeting.

All bariatric patients are welcome. Bring your support person, too.

When: Third Monday of each month, 6 to 7 p.m.
Where: Inova Fair Oaks Medical Campus, 3580 Joseph Siewick Drive, Fairfax, VA (Support groups will be held in the Conference Center, located on the lower level of Building 3580 – across from the main hospital)
