Inova Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Foot/Ankle Surgery Residency Program
Welcome to the Inova Podiatric Foot/Ankle Surgery Residency website. Here at Inova Fairfax Hospital we strive to educate and train podiatric foot/ankle surgery residents at the highest level.
Being fully integrated into the GME community has allowed us to offer residents not only extensive hands-on podiatric foot/ankle surgical training but the opportunity to work side by side as equals with allopathic medical residents in a major academic health science center. Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is located in Northern Virginia, just 20 minutes from downtown Washington, DC. The large, level-1 trauma center continues to receive awards and recognitions from numerous organizations, setting itself apart from others in the area.
The Inova residency program ever evolves and expands to assure that the residents get the finest training in podiatric medicine and foot/ankle surgery available. A state of the art surgical and interactive training facility, further allows residents to better their knowledge and experience. Upon graduation, residents are frequently offered top fellowship opportunities and compete successfully for employment with large multi-disciplinary and orthopedic groups. Past residents currently practice in more than 20 states from Florida to Alaska and Canada. Among their numerous credentials, they:
- Teach at medical centers and podiatric medical schools
- Serve as program directors
- Actively pursue research and evidence based literature publications
- Present on a national level
- Become politically active
Numerous past ACFAS presidents and board members, state podiatric medical association presidents, and deans of podiatric medical schools/colleges have been Inova graduates. The well rounded and top notch training received at the Inova podiatric foot/ankle surgery residency can assist in launching your professional career into any venue within our speciality.
