NICU Nurse Orientation
The NICU Orientation program provides an introduction to care of the critically ill neonate. This 12-week initial plan program includes didactic and clinical experiences with a preceptor. Participants learn to care for neonates ranging in intensity from those preparing for discharge to neonates who are critically ill and on ventilation support. After completion of this initial phase, clinical expectations are gradually increased over time as experience is gained. Participants complete the NRP course within the first year of employment.
