Visiting Inova Loudoun Ladies Board Birthing Inn
The patient's banded Patient Care Companion (PCC), who is 18 years of age or older, will have access to the patient at all times. The PCC may stay with patient overnight.
In order to provide our mothers the appropriate time for feeding, recovery, physician visits, and care:
Visitation hours on the Family Centered Care (FCC) unit are from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. After 9 p.m., all visitors – including siblings – will be asked to leave.
Patients may have up to 5 visitors at a time (a PCC plus 4 others, including siblings).
A certified doula is not considered a visitor.
Mothers are encouraged to take advantage of quiet time. Any loud or disruptive visitors may be asked to leave.
Siblings are encouraged to visit if they are free of illness and supervised at all times by an adult other than the patient. Siblings must stay in the room. For safety reasons, we are unable to accommodate children in the patient room overnight.
No children under the age of 12 – other than siblings of the newborn – may visit due to the undeveloped immune system of newborns.
Special requests or considerations that affect visitation will be addressed on an individual basis.
