Rebekah joined Inova Translational Medicine Institute (ITMI) in October 2014 as a cancer genetic counselor and in early 2015 received her certification. She graduated from Ohio Valley University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and earned a Master of Science degree in genetic counseling from Case Western Reserve University in 2014.

Rebekah developed a passion for cancer genetic counseling during her time as a research assistant for The PTEN Study at Cleveland Clinic. She is also an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselor’s special interest group for students and new members and works to spread awareness of the genetic counseling profession.

Rebekah's interest in genetic counseling as a career allows her to combine her love of genetics and passion for patient education and empowerment. She enjoys meeting with patients and their families and providing the information, resources and support they need to make decisions concerning their recent cancer diagnosis or family history of cancer. Rebekah is excited to have joined the profession at a time when technology and science are rapidly changing and advances continue to be made in patient-centered care.

Rebekah enjoys the daily opportunities to contribute her skillset to provide patients with comprehensive care and is proud to be a member of the Inova genetic counseling team. Her hometown of Cleveland has a special place in her heart, and she is a fan of Ohio State football and Cleveland Cavaliers basketball.
