Loring Flint, MD, Chief Physician Executive and High Reliability Officer

Loring Flint, MD, is Chief Physician Executive and High Reliability Officer for Inova. In this position he is a major contributor to the overall strategic direction and priority setting within Inova as well as leading the broad areas of clinical quality and safety, clinical, effectiveness and patient experience. Recently, he played a lead role creating Pediatric Specialists of Virginia, which is a joint venture with Children’s National Medical Center.

In this role he also has operating responsibility for System Pharmacy, Case Management, Behavioral Health, Analytics, Sports Medicine, and Disaster Planning.

Dr. Flint has more than 30 years of healthcare experience. He spent two decades at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts, where he served as chief medical officer for Baystate Health and president of Baystate Medical Practices. Prior to joining Baystate, he held leadership positions in Emergency Medical Services and Ambulatory and Physician Services during a ten-year career at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Flint received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medical Science and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University. He is a Board Certified Internist. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago.
