Joseph Pina, MD, FACP, MSS, COL(Ret) – Acting President and Chief Medical Officer, Inova Mount Vernon Hospital

Joseph Pina, MD, serves as Acting President and Chief Medical Officer at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Pina served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, where he held several senior leadership positions in large multi-specialty clinics and at the Pentagon. He was also in charge of the Army Medical Corps High Reliability Program and is a subject matter expert and educator in high reliability healthcare organizations.

Dr. Pina also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, MD and the George Washington University School of Medicine.

A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Pina and his wife Susan have three children and reside in Falls Church, VA.
