Alquietta Brown, RN, BSN, MHSA, PhD, Chief Nurse Executive

Alquietta Brown, RN, BSN, MHSA, PhD, serves as Chief Nursing Officer at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.

Dr. Brown joined Inova in 2015. Shortly thereafter she transitioned with the leadership team as CNO in February 2016. She added the Interim CNE role in March 2017.

As a senior nursing executive, Dr. Brown has a broad range of experience in the academic medical sector. She is noted for her excellence in operational execution and strategic planning, commitment to the development of talent, and process improvement. She is keenly focused on delivering safe, patient-centric nursing strategies while producing high quality outcomes.

In 2016, she was recognized nationally as a Finalist – Nursing GEM Award Recipient for Excellence in Executive Leadership. She is a United States Army veteran who served during Operation Desert Storm. As a recipient of both the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, she served her country honorably.

Dr. Brown received her BSN from Howard University, her MHSA from Strayer University, and her PhD from Walden University.
