Biography

Katie is a newer member of Inova Physical Therapy Center-Woodbridge. She joined Inova in July 2016 with more than 4 years of clinical experience. She has worked in an orthopedic outpatient clinic in Philadelphia, PA. She has a special interest in post-operative orthopedic patients, vestibular and balance training, and manual therapies. She anticipates further studies in Dry Needling and lymphedema coursework.

She has completed course work in myofascial taping, Graston technique (instrument assisted soft tissue massage), vestibular and balance dysfunction, orthopedic techniques for upper extremity. Katie's goal in working with her patients is to work together in creating achievable goals so that they may return to their highest level of function and quality of life in home and the community.

A native of West Chester, PA, Katie Shanley currently resides Woodbridge, VA, with her husband and cat. In her spare time she enjoys painting, drawing, hiking the many trails of Virginia, and volunteering in the community.
