Biography
Chris Young is a state licensed and nationally certified athletic trainer and serves as Director of Athletic Training Services and Outreach at Inova Sports Medicine.
Before joining Inova in 2015, Chris was supervisor of the Athletic Training Outreach Program at Ochsner Sports Medicine in New Orleans, which consisted of more than 40 full-time certified athletic trainers. Also during his time in Louisiana, Chris served as the head athletic trainer for the University of New Orleans and directed sports medicine care for the university's 14 NCAA Division I sports.
Other experience includes time with the United States Soccer Federation, United States Club Soccer, Philadelphia Phillies and Oakland Raiders. During his time with the United States Soccer Federation, Chris oversaw the team's medical operations for 8 domestic and 9 international trips, culminating in the 2011 FIFA Under-17 Men's World Cup in Mexico.
Chris earned a Master of Athletic Training degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX, and a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in health and human performance from Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga, CA.
A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, he currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Liz, daughter, Hannah and beagle, Finley. In his spare time Chris enjoys playing volleyball and basketball while also being active with his family.
