Join electrophysiologist Stephen Gaeta, MD, PhD, for an interactive discussion about atrial fibrillation (AFib) and the latest advances in treatment. Dr. Gaeta is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is part of the multidisciplinary team at the Inova AFib Center.
Why it matters:
AFib is the most common arrhythmia worldwide. An estimated 6 million Americans are living with the condition, which can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. Understanding AFib involves knowing its symptoms and potential causes and recognizing the importance of timely diagnosis and management. New technologies have improved the success and safety of AFib treatment, particularly for patients with a previous ablation that failed or those with longstanding, persistent AFib.
