Physical Therapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Physical Therapy (PT) of the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles can improve your quality of life by eliminating or managing incontinence and other symptoms, giving you the confidence to live your life again. Pelvic floor exercises and other techniques targeted to your particular condition will help strengthen the pelvic muscles and pelvic floor, and reduce the risk (or worsening) of prolapse, incontinence, pain and other symptoms.

Therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction can include a combination of pelvic exercises, manual treatments, behavioral training, neuromuscular re-education, postural training, core strengthening, biofeedback and electrical stimulation with a focus on Independent Home Exercise Program and education to promote an independent management of the patient's symptoms.
